1
Stop Steam from auto-updating the game
In Steam, right-click Satisfactory → Properties → Updates and set "Only update this game when I launch it."
-
2
Open the Steam console
Press Win + R, type
steam://open/console, and press Enter. A new CONSOLE tab appears in Steam — click it. -
3
Download the 1.1.2.2 files
Paste this into the console and press Enter. It downloads about 12 GB — there's no progress bar, so just wait. If it errors out, run it again.
download_depot 526870 526871 1858885725837604498When it finishes it prints a path like
...\Steam\steamapps\content\app_526870\depot_526871\— that folder is where your downloaded files landed. -
4
Back up your current install
Right-click the game → Manage → Browse local files to find your install folder, then make a copy of it somewhere safe — just in case something goes sideways.
-
5
Clear out the install folder
In your Satisfactory install folder, delete everything except these (leave them exactly as they are):
Manifest_DebugFiles_Win64.txtManifest_NonUFSFiles_Win64.txtManifest_UFSFiles_Win64.txt- the
FactoryGame\Configs\folder - the
FactoryGame\Mods\folder
-
6
Copy the 1.1 files in
Copy everything from the downloaded
depot_526871\folder into your install folder. If Windows asks about overwriting, choose to KEEP the existing files — do not overwrite those threeManifest_*.txtfiles. Keeping them is what stops Steam from re-updating you to 1.2. -
7
Install the mod loader for 1.1
Grab the SML-only profile below, then in Satisfactory Mod Manager (SMM) import it and select it. Let it install SML for 1.1.
⬇ Download SML-only profile -

Launch and connect
Start the game (through Steam or SMM), open Server Manager, and connect to:

Before you start
You need to own Satisfactory on Steam (Windows). We're not handing out game files — you download them straight from your own Steam account. The big number in the command is just a public Steam reference (a manifest ID), not a copy of the game.
Important
- Do not click "Verify integrity of game files" in Steam — that undoes all this and re-downloads 1.2. (It's also exactly how you go back to 1.2 on purpose later.)
- Once SML and the mods are updated for 1.2, we'll all move back to 1.2 and none of this will be needed anymore.
